It’s really scary to me how fast time flies. I constantly feel that there’s so much I want to do and not enough time to do it all. Well, definitely due to my poor time management. That’s why I am so happy I did not give up on this blog and the one year just flew by. It’s so true that time flies when you’re having fun.
Even if I didn’t get much done, at least I have a greater understanding of this little island where I grew up and I hope the information was helpful to travellers.
I decided to look at my stats and capture it so that I can look back on it in the future. Am hoping I don’t get jaded and stop blogging, because honestly some days I do get a bit jaded and feel like what I am writing about is superficial and self indulgent. Then on other days I feel the excitement again and feel it’s worthwhile recording life which will in the future, say twenty years from now, be history, and that fascinates me.
I also love writing and in the next year hope to pay more attention so that I can produce better quality writing and photos. I think somewhere long the way I have forgotten Naipaul’s advice to ‘pity the reader’. I am assuming and crossing my fingers that WordPress will still be around. It’s definitely the best platform for blogging by far.
Another reason to love WordPress? That addicitive stats page. Decided to just look at the home page stats because I feel it’s the true measure of traffic. Some of my posts get a lot of hits because they are controversial topics, but I think the homepage is a steady measure of returning traffic. Excited to see that it’s doubled since last year. Feel so grateful for the 200 people bothering to read this blog everyday. Mostly my family and my blog friends. You must check them out – on my blogroll.
Hope I don’t get boring, and you go away and thank you so much for always taking the time to read and especially to comment. Every time I see new comments, I feel so grateful for the kind words and effort.
