The Adorable Darth Vader Boy

I don’t watch the Superbowl or soccer for that matter, but I am so glad Crystal of Expat Bostonians shared this delightful commercial when she blogged about the superbowl.  I love how she brings a slice of America into Singapore and her explanations about how the cultures differ is fascinating. You must check her blog out, especially if you’re an expat in Singapore. I’m a local, but I find that well written expat blogs really allow me to broaden my perspective.

The little boy in the ad has since being super famous online and he has been revealed as adorable little six year old, Max Page, who was born with a congential heart defect and actually has a pacemaker inserted when he was just 3 months old.  What a sweet little boy he is.  He looks a little bit like Meg Ryan, don’t you think?  I must ask B about this as Meg Ryan was one of his favourite actresses.  I think Max and Meg totally have the same smile and hair. B is also a mega Star Wars fan, so this will definitely appeal to him. He was shocked that I hadn’t watched the Star Wars movies when we first met. Since then I have a newfound appreciation for them, especially the original Trilogy and the fantastic banter between Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher. But I digress. Back to little Max who seems so unaffected by it all when he was interviewed by Matt Lauer at the Today Show.  But then again, he’s only six.

Max was also interviewed by CNN.

Here’s the Super Bowl Volkswagen commercial that shot him to fame. There’s a short version online, but the full one is just so wonderful. If you haven’t seen it already, you must. I thought the actors who played the parents were awesome too.
