Charlie Brown Cafe

B was excited to see this authentic Charlie Brown Cafe. It’s at 313 Somerset, but the external area which is not air-conditioned.

There’s a story behind the Perrier glass in the photo. B got a free Perrier glass at NTUC, as I was complaining why waste your time and money just to get an lousy, ugly free glass. It doesn’t even have a handle I protested. I went on and on about don’t be kiasu etc. I think you get the drift. When we had a drink here I commented that the glass was so pretty and it turned out to be the same one he just got. He was tickled pink, because now I’m malu (Singlish for loose face and embarrassed). It’s cool because it changes colour as the glass gets chilled. The Perrier word comes out in a lovely shade of bottle green. Now I want to steal B’s glass. I tend to covet his food and stuff. Somehow food tastes better when I pick it off his plate and especially if he protests.

Don’t waste your money on the gelato here though – it was more sugar than cream. Well, unless you like your gelato more sweet than creamy. It was S$6 for 2 scoops and S$4 if you just have a single scoop.

Looks like a cool place to check out when I’m there. I like the Perrier being served in a Perrier glass.
