Serangoon Central’s Nex Mall (The Carpark Situation)

When I say Nex, I always feel the t is missing.  It’s kind of an odd name but I think it may grow on me, just like this new concrete space will.  I revisited the place for the sake of blogging and I found some reasons to like it.  I know I panned it in my last post and maybe I was a bit too harsh, as it’s not completely ready yet.  Today I got a glimpse of Freshness Burger which opens on December the 1st, which is soon.  I also liked the Cold Storage which looks really good.  Once again though, the crowds put me off and I could only stay a while before I felt the opposite of relaxed.  This would be a pretty nice place once the euphoria dies down. I guess, because the opening coincides with the school holidays you get tons of people even on weekdays.

I like that the carpark is colour coded, but don’t like that the lanes so narrow.  Be careful if you drive in here or you may scratch the side of your car.  The trolley bay is great too, considering that the mall has both Cold Storage (better variety of gourmet stuff) and NTUC (mostly cheaper), where you can shop for your groceries. (update: it was just reported in The Straits Times that the carpark design sucks)

There’s a lift for pets as there’s a park where you can walk your dogs on the rooftop. I don’t think it’s ready yet though.

There’s a view of the surrounding flats from the carpark. As you can see, it’s a might hot day with killer humidity. I hope it rains soon.
