Halloween Comes Early in Osaka

One thing that struck me during my recent trip to Osaka was that Halloween is taken seriously. There were so many shops either dedicated to selling the decorations and costumes, or decked out in the orange and ghostly finery. There seems to be a particular fondness for pumpkins and ghosts in particular. It was just thrilling to see, as Halloween is one of my favourite holidays. It’s so much fun and I wish it was more prominent in Singapore. Well, there’s still time. Maybe this year it may be?

Even Spidey himself was not spared the halloween treatment.

Burger joints looked a whole lot cheerier with scary yet strangely kawaii (cute) pumpkins and ghosts.

Even Japanese slot machine (pachinko) centres were gaily decorated to attract the crowd.
