This is the first time I’ve seen or heard of a Terra Plana Store. It seems that it’s the first store in Asia. The quirky ads caught my attention.
The display ad in the front of the store claims the founder is the scion of the Clarks Shoe empire. Terra Plana is his creation and a new kind of footwear that comes as close as possible to bare feet. The store’s premise is being eco friendly and it’s claimed that there are recycled elements in the shoes.
They cost about a $130 Singapore dollars (anyway that was the price on a ballerina type shoe I spotted so at least it’s not as expensive as the ones at Camper which cost double that amount (shoe store with Spanish origins at VivoCity in Singapore).
I took a picture so that you can see what the minimal ‘barefoot’ sandal looks like. I wonder how comfortable it is. I never dare try out anything at expensive stores in Singapore because the unwritten rule is that once you try it you gotto buy it. If you don’t, you’ll get a huge frown. To me that’s just bad service. I don’t know what the service at this store is like, but that’s just my general experience.
